There's a strange thing that happens when life gets hard. Time distorts. When things aren't going well, it feels like this is just how it will always be.
But that's not reality. That's your mind in survival mode, convinced the current moment is permanent.
The truth is that peaks and valleys are part of life. A marriage doesn’t always go up and to the right. You don't get the flowers without the rain. You don't get more flexible without the stretch. And sometimes, you don't get the breakthrough without first sitting in the dark long enough to wonder if you'll ever find your way out.
If you're in one of those challenging seasons of life, here's what I want you to hold onto: sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried. But really, you've been planted.
That distinction matters more than it might seem. Buried things stay buried. Planted things grow. The same darkness, the same pressure, the same waiting, but an entirely different outcome depending on how you frame what's happening to you.
Whatever hardship you're in right now is not the end of your story. It's preparing you for what's ahead. The question isn't whether you'll get through it. It's what you'll become because of it.
Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried. But really, you've been planted.
