Courage to Make Mistakes

Once a year, the PGA Tour has a two-man team event in New Orleans. Which means instead of playing alone, you have a teammate who is depending on you. Most people apologize to their teammates when they make a mistake. “I am so sorry I missed that putt.” or “I am sorry I put you in that bad position.”

However, the teams that do the best don’t apologize for mistakes; they have the courage to make them. Paulo Coelho had this great line, “When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes.”

Stop being afraid of making mistakes; have the courage to make something happen. Courage is being scared and deciding to do it anyway. However, most people tend to worry about what could go wrong instead of focusing on what could go right.

Here is what I want you to carry with you today.

It takes pride to be worried. It takes humility to be courageous.

You must not be prideful and afraid to make mistakes. Because you possess sufficient courage and humility, let’s put that into action today.

It takes pride to be worried. It takes humility to be courageous.
