Don't Set Out to Win

Set Out to Connect

Relationships are the currency of life.

Think that’s foolish? An empty house is nice for a while, but eventually, it gets lonely. A solopreneur has low overhead, but celebrating alone isn’t fun.

However, when it comes to conversations with the people we interact with most, we typically set out to “win” those conversations. There is this great line, “When you set out to win a conversation, you lose a relationship.”

Even if you are right about something, don’t set out to win; set out to connect. Have the patience to understand the person. Communication and trust are at the center of every relationship, and you need others, so communicate accordingly today.
