Give Your Gifts
Giving and receiving great gifts is life-giving.
Sure, everyone loves getting a gift. But once you give an excellent one, you quickly realize which is more powerful.
The same is true for your strengths in life. Most people get this wrong.
For a long time, I thought my strengths were for me. Until a friend changed my perspective. He said, “Your strengths aren’t meant for you. They’re meant to serve others.”
Think about it: Does an apple tree eat apples? Does an orange tree drink its juice?
Of course not. The fruit isn’t for the tree. It’s for others.
The same is true for your gifts.
If you’re not sure what your gift is, here’s a simple test: Your gift is what comes easily to you but is hard for most.
That doesn’t mean it won’t take effort to develop it. It will. And it certainly doesn’t mean you’re the only one with that gift. But it does mean you’re responsible for using it.
Today’s your reminder: Recognize your gifts, develop them, and, most importantly, share them with others.
Your strengths aren’t meant for you, they are meant to serve others.
