If You Could Only Go Back In Time

You can’t change the past

If only you could go back in time.

Now that you know what you know, you'd do a few things differently.

When I first test-drove a Tesla seven years ago, I called my financial advisor and said,
"We have to buy a Tesla. It's different."
He looked at the financials and said, “It’s not a good investment; we should pass.”

We were wrong. If only we could go back in time.

But here’s the thing. Most people live in the past.

  • They regret.

  • They reminisce.

  • They replay what they should have done or wish they’d done.

But living in the past doesn’t move you forward. C.S. Lewis wrote:
"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."

Today is your day to stop trying to go back and start focusing on what you can do today.

There’s a Chinese Proverb that says:
"The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second-best time is right now."

Learn from the past. But don’t live there. You can’t change it.

The present is where progress happens. And it's the only thing you can control.

You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.
