Most people believe the world rewards talent. That because one person is more naturally gifted, they'll get the riches at the end of the rainbow.
And while having talent is better than not having it, the world doesn't reward talent. It rewards the audacious.
There's a mindset shift that helps you become the kind of person who takes more risks and acts with boldness.
Every moment you have the opportunity to act and don't take it, someone else takes your spot.
Harsh, I know. But think back to kindergarten. The teacher says, "Get in line for your ice cream cone." Because you don't get in line immediately, you end up at the back. And when it's finally your turn, you find out they've run out.
Every kid who had the audacity to get in line quickly got rewarded. You didn't.
Now, this isn't about being selfish or not wanting other kids to have ice cream. It's about your willingness to be audacious and act differently than everyone standing around waiting. When you start thinking of it as someone else takes your spot, everything changes. Failing to take action no longer feels neutral. It feels like the moment being gone for good.
So here's the best part. Today, when the moment arises for you to take action or not, just remember, if you don't, someone else takes your spot, and it's not coming back.
That should make the decision a lot easier.
Every moment you have the opportunity to act and don't take it, someone else takes your spot.
