You can’t give what you don’t have.

That’s obvious when it comes to money or food, but it’s just as true with energy. And yet, many people treat books, podcasts, talks, or newsletters as nice but unnecessary. Something extra or optional.

That mindset gets it backward.

The word inspiration literally means to breathe life into. It’s hard to inspire anyone else if nothing is breathing life into you. A tire doesn’t do much without air. A balloon doesn’t serve its purpose without helium.

People are no different. When we’re inspired, something shifts. Our energy changes, and we’re far more likely to take action. That matters because action always leads somewhere. It produces an outcome, or it provides information. Both are wins because one gives you progress and the other gives you clarity.

Here’s the pattern I’ve seen over and over again: I call it The Action Flywheel. Inspiration creates action. Action produces outcomes. And outcomes build belief.

The challenge is that inspiration is perishable. It fades faster than we expect. Which is why waiting too long to act when you are inspired is so costly.

So seek inspiration on purpose. Read things that stretch you. Listen to voices that wake you up. Put yourself in rooms, conversations, and environments that breathe life into you. Then have a bias for action while the energy is still there.

Because when inspiration fades, fear usually fills the gap.

Inspiration creates action. Action produces outcomes. Outcomes build belief.
