The Moment You Must Choose Courage
Don't regret
Courage is the force that moves your life forward. Not talent. Not timing. Courage.
There’s always a moment of tension before something meaningful. Whether it’s a job change, a difficult conversation, or a new opportunity. You’ll find yourself stuck in the question: “Do I?” or “Don’t I?” At this moment, choose courage.
Anais Nin has this fantastic quote: “Your life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”
Consider the story of Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx. She had no background in fashion, retail, or business. She sold fax machines door-to-door and had an idea for a better undergarment, but she had no connections, no funding, and no guarantees.
She could have played it safe.
Instead, at the moment of “Do I” or “Don’t I” she chose courage. She cold-called manufacturers, pitched stores herself, and even wrote her own patent. She heard no after no, but she pressed on.
Today, she’s a self-made billionaire, and you wouldn’t have worn her clothes or heard her name if she hadn’t chosen courage. Think of it this way, courage didn’t guarantee her success, but listening to fear would’ve guaranteed her regret.
The next time you’re stuck, wavering between action and hesitation, choose courage. Even when it’s small. Especially when it’s hard. Because your future is waiting on the other side of it.
Courage doesn’t guarantee success. But listening to fear guarantees regret.
