Turn Your Back

On the crowd

Leadership is tough. Making your own path is challenging.

Often, it requires taking a route that most people are unwilling to take. James Cook, had this phenomenal quote: “A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd.”

If you do what everyone else does, you will get what everyone else gets. Leading or making your own path requires you to turn your back on what everyone else is doing. It’s more than likely this choice will cost you something or someone. But it’s worth it.

Have the courage to turn your back on the crowd.
