What You Consume Matters

Character wins when talent fades

It’s exciting that we just hit 750 subscribers of the Optimistic Outlook in just a few months, all from organic growth! I was walking through the airport this weekend, I had two ADHD thoughts: “Where in the world are all these people going?” and “Do you think every one of these people could benefit from the Optimistic Outlook?”

Thanks to people like you who share the messages with others whom you think would benefit. It means more to me than you know. If you haven’t, give it a shot. Sharing is caring.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled Optimistic Outlook newsletter…

What You Consume Matters

We are what we repeatedly do. But even more than that, we are what we repeatedly consume.

That scroll on your phone? It’s not just mindless. It’s molding your mind.

In the past, you had to seek information. Now, it seeks you. Algorithms feed your attention, some of it helpful, some of it harmful. And over time, what you consume... you begin to consider.

That’s the line I want you to remember: “What you consume, you consider.”

If you regularly consume negativity, division, fear, and shallow entertainment, don’t be surprised if you start to feel that way.

However, if you cultivate habits of feeding your mind with good content that includes optimism, wisdom, and inspiration, your thoughts, actions, and outcomes will naturally follow.

You don’t need me to tell you what’s good or bad for you. You know.

But here’s the challenge: Be intentional about your inputs. Choose content that lifts you. Follow people who give life, not take it. Read things that help you grow.

Because the old saying is true: “Garbage in, garbage out.”

But let’s flip it: Good in, good out.

You have a choice. So choose well.

What you consume, you consider.
