Who is Going to Win?
You or your emotions
Having emotions is a part of being human. Anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise are all emotions you might feel today.
However, it’s not the emotions that matter; it’s how you control them. There is a powerful lesson, “The person in the most control of their emotions is the most powerful person in the room.”
Today, you will see teams compete in the NCAA tournament, and how the players and coaches control their emotions during pressure situations will improve their likelihood of success.
The regulation of your emotions is a skill; it requires a lot of practice and discipline. There is a phenomenal technique to help you called “The 1 second breathe.”
When you feel your emotions about to win, take a quick 1 second to breathe in and out through your nose. It will center you and allow you to decide who will win today.
You must win, not your emotions.
The person in the most control of their emotions is the most powerful person in the room.
