It's Not About How You Start
You must finish.
Finish.
A few weeks ago, my son’s tire on his electric scooter broke. Unfortunately, fixing it was too complicated for a 12-year-old to figure out independently, so my wife put me in charge of solving the problem.
Collectively, I spent 4 hours researching the problem, ordering the correct replacement tire, and trying to fix it on my own. Ultimately, I made a lot of progress but didn’t complete it, and we still had a broken scooter.
My wife didn’t care about the effort I had put in; she just cared about it being finished. It taught me that the last 10 percent, finishing, is what matters.
Said differently, “It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish.”
Today is your day to finish. Whatever you are working on, you will manufacture a burst of focused effort.
Your life will only be different if you finish.
It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.
