You Must Row
Life is easier when things are going your way.
However, life isn’t always easy. In fact, it is hard most of the time.
Instead of wanting things to be easy, expect them to be hard. Arizona State Women’s basketball coach Molly Miller had this excellent quote: “When there is no wind for your sailboat, row.”
What she means is the boat will undoubtedly go faster when the wind is behind you, but when there is no wind, don’t just sit there; take action.
Row your boat. Make progress. Do the hard things.
I know you want things to be easy, but you are made to do hard things. You are made for progress, not for arrival.
Make today about having a bias for action. Pick the hardest thing on your to-do list and attack it this morning. And don’t stop until you make meaningful progress.
When there is no wind for your sailboat, row.
