Your Hard Work Will Pay Off
Keep showing up. The results will, too.
At some point, you’ve probably been told, “Hard work pays off.” But what no one tells you is when it will.
You might be working late nights, showing up early, giving your best every day, and wondering why the payoff hasn’t come yet. Which is precisely when most people get discouraged.
Discouragement often starts with one of the D’s:
Difficulty — things are harder than expected.
Delay — progress takes longer than you hoped.
Defeat — something doesn’t go your way.
When one of those D’s hits, remind yourself: Hard work pays off, so you must persevere. Said differently, Difficulty, delay, and defeat are tests. Perseverance is the answer.
To persevere means to persist through difficulty, to keep moving when others stop. Most people don’t fail because they lack talent or potential. They fail because they stop too soon.
But not you, not today. You aren’t going to get discouraged by difficulty, delay, or defeat. You will persevere. While it's true, the reward for hard work doesn’t always show up when you want or where you want it, but it will show up.
Just fall in love with the work and perseverance. Because they turn time into results.
Difficulty, delay, and defeat are tests. Perseverance is the answer.
