Your Unqualified and That's Ok
You must go before you’re ready.
However, most people disqualify themselves because they have never done it before. If only they knew that commitment can be a great substitute for being qualified. Think about it:
The Wright brothers weren’t qualified to build and fly a plane, but they were committed to it.
Martin Luther King Jr. wasn’t qualified to lead the Civil Rights movement and unleash change in the United States, but he was committed to it.
Mother Teresa wasn’t qualified to care for the poor and feed the hungry worldwide, but she was committed to it.
There is this great line: “Growth happens when you do the things you feel unqualified to do.”
When you do things you feel unqualified for, it’s certainly possible you will fail. But failure is not final; failure is feedback. The only way to learn and grow is to take on things you haven’t done before.
This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare or work hard and leave failure in your new endeavor as the only option. It means you should take on that hobby, job, or task you feel unqualified for and attack it with an unrecognizable urgency to the common man.
Growth happens when you do the things you feel unqualified to do.
